Panoramic

For this Panoramic assignment we worked with three different pictures of the same general area. We took one picture of the left part of the area, another of the middle, and lastly the right. Then we opened them with gimp, and then attached them to form one big picture. From there we made all the changes necessary to complete our panoramic photograph. Some of the tools we used were, crop, eraser, and perspective.

Animal

For this weeks assignment I based my pictures on animals. I tried to portray a couple of different levels of perspective when i was taking these. Some i took low at grass level, and others higher from a humans perspective. I also tried to show a couple different breeds of dogs to make my slideshow more appealing and interesting. I took pictures of my white maltese, named Riley. Also of my friend's dog , Haley, and my neighbors small brown dog, Rafe.

The picture i am turning in is of my dog, Riley. It shows his playful and "always happy" personality.  He loves to be outside, but he would never dare leave our property. He try's to portray himself as fearless and strong, but he is actually a big wimp at heart. In this picture he is standing on his hind legs trying to get a treat i had in my hand. I think he looks very determined in this picture.

Retouching assignment

For this assignment learned how to use the application, gimp, to enhance and retouch our original photos. I learned it takes a long time to do and a lot of patience. All of that time is worth it because in the end you can end up with an amazing photo. This is my retouched car photo.

Nature

For this weeks assignment, I choose nature as my topic. I really enjoyed taking these pictures because i feel nature  offers a wide variety of settings i can capture. I used a low f stop on a lot of them, because i like the contrast of a sharp forefront and blurry background. I tried to capture different colors in my pictures as well.
The picture that i am turning in is of a branch with bright red berries on it, and a swing set with a bright yellow slide in the background.

Motion Demo

In this lesson we learned about how to capture motion blur. To do this we had to use panning. Panning is when you move your camera with the object in motion, and shoot when it is 90 degrees in front of you. Before shooting you should be focusing on the object. To focus you press the button half way. Lastly, you have to follow threw when panning. Make sure you keep following the object after you take the picture. To display motion blur I took a picture of Mr. Bush riding his bike in the school bus loop.

Black and White

This is my black and white asssignment. This topic is very broad, which i loved because it gave me the oppurtunity to show more of my own style in the pictures. A lot of the pictures i took were outdoors, because the natural light of the sun, in my opinion, lends itself better to black and white photography. I love nature, flowers, and incorperating them with people.

My best picture for this topic is of Sarah Ottum with a rose in her hair, in front of a brick backround. I think the hardness of the brick, and the softness of her face contrast well together.

gimp assignment

For this assignment we had to take a profile picture of someone and edit it on the gimp app. Once on the gimp app, we had to make a photo inspired by Andy Warhol.
